Now that is the problem. You need a schematic and the knowledge to see which parts are the important ones. I like a film and foil cap for coupling and motor run caps for power supply filtering. So in general I'd try to avoid electrolytic caps like black gates. But if you have a PCB and you simply can't fit film caps (digital is often like this) then black gates may be the best choice.The Vishay is a great resistor but I would caution anyone against using the same type/brand of part throughout a circuit. It is usually best to mix and match. Many locations don't require a top quality resistor. Save the Vishay for a couple of key locations that effect the entire piece of equipment such as feedback resistors. No point in using them to drop voltage in a power supply IMHO.
But yes, they do make a difference if the rest of the circuit is up to snuff.
