As far as I know the reason why the sound is better when the atmosphere is humid is due to the effect that the sound travels with much more efficiency from your speakers through this kind of medium.
Don't ask me how? but I'm sure a couple of google searches will pin down exactly the scientific reason, for this.
Other than the fact that in a humid enviroment static is greatly eliminated, which would reduce it's smearing effect on your speaker and interconnect cables, and I guess probably inside the equipment to some degree, I can't see how it would be possible to tweak your front end to mimic this atmospheric anomaly.
