I found some 2'x4' Armstrong paneling advertised as Acoustic Ceiling panels. I think it's 5/8" thick Corning 704 with some white "facing" attached on one side) at Home Depot @3.32 per panel. Stiff enough to almost hold up against a brick wall with scotch tape. Cheap enough I might be able to cover an awful lot of reflective surfaces.Much more reasonably priced than some ready made 4x8 panels which were quoted at $400/panel. Maybe add a woodframe and cloth cover (or not). Or double/triple up on thickness as necessary and start experimenting.
Is this a worthwhile approach or should I look at other approaches ? The room riiinnnnnggggs. The room is 26x19 converted garage with brick walls on all sides, typical garage ceiling (in contrast with interior space drywall textured ceilings), Plenty of windows, two french doors, 3 other doors to interrupt 100% brick wall coverage... The tile floor is mostly covered with carpeting/thick throw rugs.
