Ok, so I've had a quick look for information on DBS cables...Quite simply they apply an electrical potential to one (or two) conductors in the interconnect.
These conductors may or may not carry an audio signal (patent issues).
So, what gives... the dialectric will be at a significant potential, and the polar moments will be minimised (or near nill). Thats the idea. However, as this is in effect a capacitor, there will be signal propagation through the battery by capacitative coupling - it will be attenuated, but it will be there. If this is significant in comparison to the reduction in dialectric interference is open to debate...
If you can find other ways to do this, and still use your existing cables, then I would do so.
