I'd agree........the schottky are best! 31DQ10 is good .
You can always make the whole bigger to get the lead through as long as you do it very carefully.
I've used the 11DQ10 in several cdp's without problem for a number of years. The diode change has given one of the biggest sonic improvments penny for penny, of all the mods I've done. Its the first thing I do when moding a new player.
