Couple of part numbers for you...

Can't speak authoritatively to your question about what specs would be safe in your gear, but I generally sleep well at night spec'ing replacement parts that are rated equal to or better than original equipment. People with more experience than myself have often said that OEM ratings are usually pretty conservative to begin with.

Digikey 31DQ10-ND is a 3.3A/100V Schottky in an axial package. I've used this in CD players. Audible improvement. The leads could be thicker than what you have, though, so getting 'em through the board may be an issue.

If you want higher voltage specs, the Fairchild Stealth diodes are also great sounding. For example, Fairchild ISL9R460PF2 is 4A/600V. These are TO package though, so you need some room. Don't think Fairchild makes Stealth diodes in an axial package. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
