Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ.

The experience varies wildly . . .

"hip joints" are lateral decouplers and vertical couplers. As such their results are totally dependant on the materials of the balls, the cups, the amount of damping in the cup or its mount, the size of the ball and the depression of the cup as well as its diametre . . . yada, yada.

Even so, because they decouple laterally and much unwanted vibration has significant lateral components the results are usually notable and for the best.

I still use them under some components, though not under the turntable or digital transports. There I have found total isolation from airborn vibration and mechanical vibration to be best (different room resting on a huge amount of mass comprising layered substances. I live in Manhattan on a low floor and even passing delivery trucks and subways have no effect). Most people have neither the space, inclination nor the patience for such a setup however. So try them. You might get it nailed quickly, or you might tweak for a year. Who knows?
