I am using a set of FIM 305 isolation bearings with carbide balls placed on top of a Bright Star Air Mass 3. I use this combo under my CD player and it works very well in my rig. I also have a VPI brick on top of the player which not only does what VPI bricks are noted for doing but helps to balance the whole thing as the brick can be moved around. Without something like the brick that you can use a a balance I think this would be nearly impossible set up without going insane. Here is a link to where I got my FIM 305's in case anyone is interested in giving them a try. I think they are a darn good value. I have yet to get a second set of balls and try them "topless". For this set up a set of 3 305's would give you 6 dishes for $88 plus the cost of the extra set of bearings.
