you have to take the finished goods as a whole and compare them to other articles at the same price point...in the real world you don't get something for nothing. You're far, far above the Exactpower, in solid construction terms, which has a street price of about $2,200, lists for $2,500 that nobody appears to be taking too seriously.... The Exactpower has a special, proprietary technology that you can't buy elsewhere.... OTOH the build quality is nowhere close to the B-P-T, or you could consider the Equi=Tech 1.5q for $1850....however my B-P-T had a optional "heavy" Z-Sleeve, the full sized model, not the half length you normally see in the photos, that's a $350 list item, all Wattagate outlets, completely lined with ERS cloth, silver wiring...heavy steel casework with a lining of 3M metal/elastomer damping sheet (the ERS second lining covers this), and a set of high quality metal cones for support.... the B-P-T is a better deal, more quality built in from the bottom up.... another central feature is that a large balanced transformer stores a good dose of energy right next to the amplifier, so the sound is like putting a dedicated 30 amp. circuit in... Richard Gray's Power Company attempts to do this, thie 1200s may have similar inductance, and that's questionable, a photo I saw of the interior of the 1200s shows 2 not so terribly large chokes,a safe guess is the 1200s can store about 2/3 of the B-P-T 2.0 but doesn't balance the power or offer the sophisticated filtering options... and they have a suggested retail price of $2,100...so why do I want to get decidedly less with the RGPC ? Or tinker around with endless dinky fixes that clean up one frequency band and screw up another one. I finally said enough with the parade of foolishness and half measures. Do it once, do it right, and forget about it for the next 10-20 years...
