If you can't set up differently, there are a million ways to either absorb or diffuse early reflections in the room. Strategic placement of furniture (soft chairs/couches, bookcases, etc.) can sometimes make a big difference. Absorber panels (Risch style) are pretty easy to make and effective down into the midrange depending on exact construction and placement. Tube traps are a little more work to construct, but absorb down into the bass region, once again depending on construction (size) and placement. If you don't want to DIY and you have a budget, many of the vendors out there will spend time with you designing a treatment plan for your specific room and goals.
