Wall Mounting works in the fact that when #1 I walk across the floor in our apartment, the suspended wood floors move and thus the old stand would move right with it, BAD news for a turntable, wall mounting cured this.#2The marbles effectively decouple as much as possible the shelf from the wall and brackets, still good news. #3 We have a 5 month old boy and he is eventually going to be crawling, walking and into things, a wall shelf mounted above 5 ft off the floor makes for incredibly harder access to my turntable and fragile stylus, and precious equipment, atleast harder to access than possibly climbing the component rack..But all in all, if you also are speaking of airborne vibration, not much you can do about that unless you keep you equipment in another room all by itself, we unfortunately dont have that option as all are taken right now, and its just plain silly and neurotic..
