However as mentioned, I can get them from a contact at virtually no cost (the Owen's corning pipes). I find out today that the lowest density I can get is 80kg/m3. According to many of the threads I have read on their construction, I would take the 1m/3ft pipe, glue the slit close, glue on the top and bottom end caps (which a local hardware store can cut for me) and wrap it in acoustically permeable cloth. I will then stack two of these in each corner. I will definitely look into your suggestion for the 'advanced' construction :)
