Fair enough - though, if you are paying a lot of money for a good metal to metal contact, it is important to make sure you do still have a metal to metal contact. The colored gunk, tarnish, oxide, or whatever, that can form on a non gas tight connection certainly isn't making your sound any better and chances are it is making it worse by a lot. Even if SIlver Sulfide compounds are conductive (I don't know) I am sure that silver is better and chances are, copper is better than tarnish as well.
My only point is that regardless of the interconnects you choose to have, like-metal to like-metal is always the best rule of thumb to avoid air and moisture gunking things up, and keeping the connection parts of them clean and free of oxide/tarnish is also important to extracting the best sound possible!
I mean, if you pay hundreds of dollars for silver interconnects, isn't it worth 2 cents every so often to make sure you really are having a silver connection?
