I think the result is likely to depend very heavily on your floor construction. The standard recommendation is for spikes and I understand that will work quite well on cement floors. I've got a polished, suspended wooden floor. I used the spikes with my stands, placing them on brass spike cups to protect the finish of the floor, and thought things sounded ok. Then I read about using Vibrapods under speakers on suspended wooden floors. I've never seen Vibrapods here in Australia but I can get Mod Squad Soft Shoes which are intended for a similar purpose. I put those on the floor with the well designed to take a Tiptoe facing up, put the spike cups in the well, and mounted the stands on that. Sound cleared up considerably with the speaker isolated from the suspended floor which I now feel was acting as a sounding board for vibration from the speakers when they were more directly coupled to it.
So yes, I think a seismic stand approach for speakers could be of value with a suspended floor. What would concern me is how much pressure he's using and whether the suspension is "sloppy" or "tight". With something as heavy and tall as most speaker or speaker and stand combinations, I would prefer a "tight" suspension with little movement if the speakers are bumped or pushed sideways. I'd be worried that if it was too "sloppy" a sideways bump could result in the speaker toppling over - probably more an issue for people like me using smaller monitors on stands with a high centre of gravity than for people with floorstanders with a low centre of gravity.
