I'll second Peter's suggestion of the Assemblage L-1 - have a look
at writeups on the Sonic Frontiers site.
I find it a really excellent preamp that I really can't fault!Peter suggests it's sweet - don't interpret that as over sweet or
artificial - it isn't! I'd say it's detailed, exact, precise, correct;
but it does all these things without a trace of harshness, and it
really makes music.OK, there are better things around (at a price!) but I'd that this
little beauty really is true high-end and can fit into some very
esoteric systems. I'd imagine its substantially neutral character
would go fine with a 300B amp.
I suggest the 'upgrade' version; there are quite a few changes.I have no affiliation with SF, and they are not paying me to write this!
