My speaker system has quite a low Q and it needed a touch more bass response. I am using a SET with an ultra-linear 3.5k plate-to-plate output transformer. The output triode was loaded from plate tap to plate tap giving a 3.5k load. I reduced the load impedence by loading the triode from one plate tap to the opposite screen tap, giving something like 2k load impedence. This effecively reduced the damping factor by about half. The resulting bass response from this simple mod is glorious.
