Question for Thorsten - CD output

194.200.69.2

Thorsten,
Somewhere on this site I have seen that you have talked about replacing the analogue stage of a CD player with just a resistor and small value cap

What sort of values are involved?, is it really as simple as it sounds? and are there any DAC system for which it won't work?

Finally, have tried various op-amps - OPA604, OPA132 and AD797 (best of the lot I've tried) I am going to try the 6171 (single of your oft recommended 6172) but would like to know if you have tried or heard of the 7171 as it appears to be a higher spec part than the 6171 (but is still a voltage feedback part). Is it worth trying?

Cheers

Tim
