We used some Speaker Art Super Clefs to demonstrate our gear at the last CES and I had some aluminum plates cut the same size as the top which were .75 thick which I really just had made up to tell folks what the speakers were via some engraving on the plates as we shared the room with Speaker Art. The speakers sounded quite a bit better with the plates than without and I mention this as aluminum and granite in similar sizes weigh in about the same. I used three small hard rubber feet .125" thick and .5" in diameter to keep the top of the speakers from getting marred by the plates.
