Thanks for the reply Geoff. Maybe you can help my understanding here regarding the frequencies affected by the lens. My concern with the lens was that, according to Jon Risch's they are effective as helmholtz resonators in the bass frequency they are tuned to and the act as diffusors/diffractors from frequencies of about 1.6kHz on up. Even if you can change these frequencies by altering the length and spacing of the tubes, this would appear to leave a gap in the spectrum where they don't do much. I've excited slap echo from as low as 400 Hz in my room and am worried this could muddy the sound. I got this info from Jon Risch's analysis which I believe he did without building or testing the lenses. Since you've used the lenses, I'd like to know your feelings on this.According to Jon, the absorbing panels as I've built them (6.5" thick fiberglass w/out semirigid backing) should be good from about 200 Hz all the way up. Numbers aside, maybe the lenses are what will give me the sound I'm looking for.
thanks for the input,
Dan
p.s. I apologize if these numbers are inaccurate, I couldn't get to Jon's site to check them.
