I use socks on my WATT 1's. They have excessive treble, and Dave W didn't have any update, so Bob Crump thought that socks would work. They can closely match the loudspeaker grill and lie flat even in a draft. They remove excessive treble that is annoying on average source material. Surprisingly, the socks aren't needed with first class audio material, such a quality vinyl or even some FM broadcasts.
