Who was it who mentioned or invented the tp tweak? I need to give credit to whoever it is because the tweak is !*@#%ing awesome!

My nOrh 6.5s have been bugging me with their excessive treble... I think a lot of the frequency imbalance is due to my listening setup (two speakers are directly in front of me on my desk and not spaced very far apart, I listen from about 6' away) and because they're not completely broken in yet, but because of the constraints of my little room, I can't adjust their positioning to achieve a more mellow frequency balance.

So I taped about four layers of toilet paper (two sheets folded in half) over the top half of each tweeter and the sound has improved a lot. I chose to leave half of the tweeter open because I figure 4 sheets of absorption over half of the tweeter will decrease the treble more gradually than 2 sheets of absorption over the entire tweeter. This makes sense, right?

It's amazing how a minor 1 or 2 db alteration in the frequency curve (treble tilted back down towards flat) made everything groovy.

Thanks, toilet paper man! I'll never think of tp the same way again! =D
