Not meant to be a Speaker cable!

216.252.151.34

Yesterday a slightly audio inclined friend rang and asked if he could come around and listen to some music on my system, sure I replied and 30 mins later he seated himself in my room and we played some of his CD's. He then to my surprise from his kitbag produced a bundle of grey flat cable and then enquired if I would mind changing my Spkr cable for these ones.Begrudgingly I agreed but not without some misgivings! Well I was stunned how close the sound came to my own cables-- a top High end product at $6000 US per 8ft pair!--the cost of the" Grey Wonders" $22.40c for an 8ft pair!! The ancillary items included in the test -- Rockport Szgzys all Jadis electronics
CD/DAC/ PRE/AMPS. So what is this wonder Spkr cable?
It is Computer hookup cable, that flat 3 inch X 1/32 inch piece that
is used in hardware connections. You cut a length- heat the ends with a heat gun, hold a knife on the cable on a kitchen board and pull and the shield off.You now have a 3in wide flat strip of ultrafine wires, twist all together to a point, you have to do FOUR single strips (1 for each + and - terminal).
Who is brave enough to try this also?
Good Listening
