I've tried both approaches ('tho the carpet wasn't "Turkish")...and in my setup the DIY room lenses work better in the sense that they don't suck out recording "air" that seems to evaporate with the carpet treatment. Lenses are also a _lot_ more flexible in terms of positioning.If it's any help (maybe it's useful as a frame of reference, maybe not), I posted a reply this morning on the General forum to a question about how to get a wider soundstage that outlines my room and what I've done with it to deal with the soundstage problem.
