? cut 18" wheels from 3/4" plywood for Jon Risch Bass Traps?

63.26.11.22

you know, people always seem to skip over the really difficult parts of a project. Like, anyone could probably figure out how to build a tube bass trap from a written description of just a few sentences. But here's the part I like:

"Once you have a size, cut out 3 { 16 - inch diameter! }circles of wood from 3/4 plywood or particle board..."

That's right folks, just get out your Swiss Army knife and cut away!

But how does one cut perfect, large circles from 3/4" particle board or plywood? I don't think even "Norm Abrams" (master carpenter on Yankee Workshop) knows how to do this. I bet he buys them pre-made.

I'm gonna try putting a nail in the middle of the plywood sheet, and tying a string to the knob right over the blade of the hand jig saw, and loop a 9-inch length of the string over the nail. I think if I keep just the right amount of tension on the string, and don't wobble my hand too much, I can get a nearly perfect, reproducable disk out of both the plywood and the worktable underneath.

Anyone have a better idea?
