If you have the skill, carefully remove the power supply and circuit boards. You can probably reuse the pots. Insert a high voltage transformer and the necessary chokes, caps etc., and better still a tube voltage regulator. Now, replace the entire signal section with a tube circuit. A single-ended triode power stage would be nice, but you probably have low-impedence, insensitive "transistor-friendly" loudspeakers. In that case, you may want to put in a triode push-pull power stage running deep into class A. It may be easier for you to start from scratch but this way, you can reuse the power switch, volume pot and chassis (or even the power transformer if it will work as a filament transformer), the only useful parts in a Krell.
Do this as soon as possible. This will be the cure for your depression/headaches/earaches/high frequency hearing loss.
