Ouch, that's harsh

192.234.77.6

Well, short of replacing the 300i like the previous poster suggests, have you fiddled with the usual? (speaker cable, IC, power cord, cones, etc). These things can GREATLY change the sound, and I"m almost positive you can get mighty close to the sound you want with careful tweaking. For example, if you've got any stranded copper IC's or speaker cables (not the super nice stuff, of course), you can try going to some solid-core cables. Something like Tara solid core stuff or Sonoran stuff (speaker cables) or Cogan Hall (IC) will flesh out the midrange very well with minimal sacrifice in the freq extremes. Also, try a good used power cord. With the Krell, you likely will like what the Audience powerChord will do, fleshing out all the frequency ranges, especially mids, without sacrificing any detail, speed, or dynamics, adding nice harmonics to boot.
Putting some non-cone feet (audioprism isobearing, sorbathane, or those "pods") will round out the sound nicely (with some expense paid in speed). There are many such things possible...
