Who said the Focal T's can't take much power? They are used to great effect in studio near field monitors by KRK as an example. Yeah they aren't 1000 watt bursts like Dynaudio, but they ain't real fragile either. Along the lines of a Vifa or SEAS in toughness. A problem that concerns me with low xover points stems more from the fact that they don't have interchangeable voice coils (at least K version didn't last time I looked). I used a set of Focals for many years with 100 watt Clip-O-Matics amps, second order (with supporting circuits) and never burnt one.A true second order with notch filter for the tweeter FS can do the 2500, but I don't think they sound there best there. The 3K to 3.5K is better sounding, not so stressed/buzzy. Focal JMLab uses 3 to 3.5K alot in their setups, hard to falt the manufacturers ideas.
