Thanks for your advice John. I will plug my scope into an isolation transformer for safety before doing any measurements.I am currently using the audioprism line noise sniffer which give me a good idea as to what equipment is kicking noise into the AC. Somehow the sniffer doesn't seem to know what to do and gives me noise readings with isolation transformers which are supposed to block noise. This is why I thought a scope will let me see what is going on.
