Possible room treatments? (room diagram included)

206.20.111.44

Hello all,
I'm currently in the process of treating my much neglected room and I've come to seek some advice.

My equip:
Pathos Classic One amp
Merlin VSM/SE BAM speakers
Ultech UCD/100 cd player

Right now I'm listening to the speakers in the nearfield setup and they sound very good. Vocals seem to float in the center between both speakers. Left and Right sounds though seem to come from each individual speaker, they don't disappear as such. There is PLENTY of slap-echo in my room as both my rear, front and side walls were originally untreated.

I recently purchased some RPG Profoam and put it in the first reflection points on the side walls, on the rear wall(behind speakers) and front wall(behind me). I haven't really noticed that much of a difference with the profoam in place though. The highs aren't quite as sharp but its VERY subtle.

My room is fairly small as well, about 12'x11' with an piece extending to 14' where the door/exit to the room is.

I must admit I've been somewhat bewildered by all the acoustic treatments avail. There are SO MANY!! Plus they are quite expensive as well. I live in NYC in an apt with no real space, tools or resources for DIY either.

Please check out the following diagram I have drawn...

Thanks,
Rick
