You can buy new old stock Dynaudio replacement domes for vintage Dynaudio D28 tweeters. They are getting rare, but they are still floating around on places like eBay. That's what Holt Hill uses for rebuilding speakers that use those vintage Dynaudio drivers. But Dynaudio doesn't sell replacement parts for its modern tweeters, so Holt Hill audio can't rebuild them. It's as simple as that.
Nobody makes aftermarket replacements for these tweeters. The idea of someone trying to make aftermarket replacements is pretty absurd.
While it's theoretically possible to reverse engineer and clone a modern tweeter dome and voice coil, it would take considerable engineering and manufacturing effort. It's not just a matter of dimensions. The number of windings, wire gauge, and wire resistance needs to match exactly, meaning you need to use the exact aluminum wire that Dynaudio uses. The moving mass of the assembly also needs to match exactly, which includes all of its constituent parts. And the compliance of the suspension. And the attachment of the suspension to the top place. And the dome shape. And perhaps the dome coating/stiffness too.
Because this is a tweeter, dimensions have to be just right and tolerances are very tight. You can't make one without tooling, which is a big investment. Only another driver manufacturer could do something like this, and what motivation would they have to make spare parts for a competitor's product?
