JBL L250

From the Lansing Heritage site: "The L250 was JBL's flagship speaker throughout the 1980's and remained in limited production for almost 20 years in special editions. It is one of the most critically acclaimed speakers JBL ever produced, and remains the favorite of its accomplished designer - Greg Timbers".

I bought them from a man in Houston, TX and brought them home in my pick up truck (900 miles away). The mids and tweeters have been upgraded to later 250Ti versions. The woofers needed refoaming so I ordered the surrounds but was unable to do the refoam myself (I tried). I found someone locally that did a terrific job on them and I reinstalled them. Oiled the cabinets with a couple of coats of Howards Feed-n-Wax and they came back great. Replaced about 70% of the crossover caps beginning with the electrolytics and will continue upgrading them. I run them with the tweeter down one setting and they balance out great. Drive them with my Oppo 105 and a Parasound A23 amplifier. The speakers sound absolutely magnificent. They are all they are reputed to be.
