RE: Help a newbie: Dali Helicon 300 Mk2 vs B&W 805s

I have not heard the Dali 300s but I own the 400s. The Dalis are very good with female voices but would not be described as bright/forward.

If you share walls with other people a good stand mounted speaker should give you all the bass you need.

Just keep reading and listening until you know that you want a particular speaker. A little patience can save a lot of dispointment.
