I owned a pair of the Magnat "Magnashpere" speakers. These are not the speakers described by grooveen. The Magnashpere had a truncated pyramid base with the midrange and tweeter spheres mounted on top. My speakers had mahogany cabinets and were quite striking. I bought them new around 1990 to replace a pair of maggy MGIIb's. I thought the open design might approach the spaciousness of the planers but although they sounded good the top end was too etched for my taste.
This post brings back some fond memories of those speakers.
