There were a few different models with the woofer(s) in the bottom section and a large hemisphere midrange/tweeter dome driver back-to-back with a second tweeter/midrange dome placed atop the the woofer section. They were made in Germany and had a number of positive attributes including a relatively "boxless" quality for much of the mid to upper range. I remember seeing them in the early 1980s.
