I’m not familiar with the others, but the Devores’ lack of enclosure colorations, congestion and signature caught my attention. The Devore Super 8's have amazing purity, transparency, and resolution w/o being sterile or warm...just natural. I found them very chameleon-like, with very little colorations, if anything - the soundstage was slightly forward (but not in your face). The images were tight and focused, but don’t fill or energize the room as well as the Silverbacks. Side by side, the Silverbacks have all of the strengths of the Super 8' with a bigger soundstage and more lively presentation.IMO, the Devores are worth checking out and agree with the others that they sound better with tubes. Devore’s are often mated with SimAudio stuff….both are good, but not together….articulate, but unemotional. I don’t recall the brand, but the tube combo was as articulate and much more engaging.
Believe what your ears say - not hearsay.
