Roughly 30 years ago a local book and music store had A25s hung on the walls to provide background music for the enjoyment of customers. Music they sold was primarily classical, jazz and what became known as "world" music and this was a pleasant environment in which to shop. Anyway, I was struck by how good the music sounded at relatively low levels from these speakers. So I picked up a used pair for a secondary system. While they were every bit as good as those at Mythris, I had to tinker and found some ways to improve them. Check the archives if you're interested.Fast forward to more recent times, I found another pair at a yard sale (first ones sold years ago), very clean and with ORIGINAL boxes if you could believe it. Well, I tested them and found they sound very good driven by my NAD 3020A in a bedroom system. Point is, for those who feel the A25 does not sound good, I would suggest there is likely a problem. Upgrading the cap in the crossover would be a minimum recommendation. No guarantee they'll match your taste, but there is a reason this may have been the largest selling speaker of all time.
