Donegan stole neither Hayward's songs nor his guitar.

Hayward signed over his songs contractually to Donegan when he was
eighteen: totally legal, no theft involved. Donegan gave him a
twelve string from his attic; it was trashed and Hayward fixed it up
and wrote much of the Moodie's material on it. It was later borrowed
by Lonnie's guitar player and never returned. Hayward bought it back
from Lonnie's estate. Donegan stole nothing, your scurrilous slander
notwithstanding. Regards,

J.R.
