As legendary as the Diana-led version of the group is, I really like the version featuring Jean Terrell, Mary Wilson, and Cindy Birdsong. The arrangements were more adventurous, and the singing had a funkiness and grit that it just didn't have with Ms. Ross. I've been listening to the Supremes a lot lately, and it's amazing how good (and unheralded) this incarnation of the band was. FWIW, Hip-O Select has a limited-edition set covering all of the post-Diana Supremes' albums. It's volume one, so I assume there's going to be another volume sometime in the future.
