For both I'm talking about the original albums, not any remastered cds. Chicago IV recorded live at Madison Square Garden in NYC sounded like it was recorded in the "blue" seats (if you know MSG you know where the blue seats were) with one of those 1970s hand held cassette recorders. My understanding with "Flowers of Evil" was that to get everything on the live side they had to reduce the volume or something like that. Any way back when I first heard it I knew what it was like to listen to an lp with one of these:
