I haven't watched the OP's video link yet, but I would not call BS&T a SF band. Al Kooper and most of the original members were from NYC. David C-T was English-born, raised in Toronto. The band has had about a thousand musicians pass through the ranks over 60 years, so it's possible some of them were from the Bay Area.

Maybe you are thinking about Cold Blood, which was a really great horn-driven band from the 60s - 70s out of Oakland. Fronted by a terrific, soulful female singer, Lydia Pense. There may be a version still active, but I quit paying attention long ago. Probably have a couple of worn-out LPs hiding in the stacks somewhere.
