No, we don't have any phots from 1975, when we were in preschool. But that's when Gordon Lightfoot came out with "Rainy Day People," which our parents and neighbors listened to.
In 1990, while I was a freshman at UC Santa Cruz, culture, including pop music, from the 1970s made a comeback. And that included Lightfoot's "Rainy Day People," which a Central CA Coast "Oldies" station occasionally aired. That song seemed to fit in, with the forested parts of campus.
But here's the thing. Back then, we were in a drought. We'd get clouds, but not a lot of rain. Nevertheless, "Rainy Day People" reinforced how good it was, to have friends.
