As a child in the 1970s, I had one female babysitter, Christina. Whereas the male babysitters just let me and my brother run wild, Christina would interact with us. She would play, for example, Cheap Trick's "Surrender," and tell us that parents weren't as square as we thought. And then, in the late-70s, we were devastated when Donny Hathaway died.
Christina had a friend, and apartment complex neighbor, Jasmine, who, 45 years ago, attended and commuted to San Francisco State University (above). Jasmine loved, and shared with us, Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway's "Back Together Again," which was released after Hathaway had passed. Unlike other Flack songs, this was an uptempo disco-ish track. After Jasmine graduated, she moved away, found a job elsewhere. And then, by the mid-80s, her family moved. I've always wondered whatever happened to Jasmine and her family. But I still hear and enjoy "Back Together Again."
