40 years ago, friends, relatives, and classmates were playing with G.I. Joe figures. Alas, we don't have many left.

At the time, we overheard, or saw the video for, Autograph's "Turn Up The Radio." This would be one of heavy metal's last hurrahs, until 1987. Back then, we did not know about "high-end audio." We just had bad-sounding mass-market electronics. When we turned up the boombox or TV, the sound was bad. But you know what? With the music pumping, but the electronics sucking, we took an interest in audio.
