When we were at Presidio Middle School in the early-to-mid 1980s, the fog rolling in was magical. It provided the perfect background, for Spandau Ballet's "True" and "Gold."
When we were in college in the early-1990s, Spandau Ballet broke up. Very few of us were in relationships, and those who were, like Spandau Ballet, broke up.
Our college fees typically covered access to on-campus gyms. But with so much else to do, we didn't want to spend time, doing sets of 10, or boringly jogging on a treadmill.
10 years ago, a re-formed Spandau Ballet came out with "This Is The Love," which we liked.
I was finishing up at Stanford, and had relatives who were in college. If they had free time, we encouraged them to use the university's gym. See, once they were out of college, if they wanted to go to a gym, they had to pay!
While grooving to "This Is The Love," we told everyone that, if you were going to workout, don't offset that, by eating fattening foods.
