We do not have any photos from late 1989, so we'll have to re-enact this.
During the Fall 1989 quarter, Whitesnake released the killer "Fool For Your Loving '89." My dorm neighbor, Andrea, could be heard singing that in the shower.
Andrea and I went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, where it was cloudy, but with no rain. When we got back to Pacific Avenue, record stores stocked Whitesnake's then-new Slip Of The Tongue, which (a) included "Fool For Your Loving '89," and (b) Andrea bought on cassette.
Andrea warned others not to step on (and thus slip off of) the raised ledge in the dorm showers.
Andrea loved Whitesnake's "The Deeper The Love," which made her enthusiastically and caressingly rub body wash all over herself.
She then called you over, to scrub her feet, minimizing the chances of her slipping and falling. You crouched down, and tried to scrub her feet, but from shaking to "The Deeper The Love," she didn't stand still enough!
Back then, I did know my future wife. Back then, she liked Whitesnake's "The Deeper The Love." 35 years later, she still likes it. And if it's reproduced correctly, "The Deeper The Love" makes her stop what she's doing, and get into the music.
