35 years ago, as a college freshman, I got to bond with some of my dormmies, over laundry. You'd kick back, and observe how the others did their laundry.

My dorm's laundry room was in the basement. We only had two washing machines, and two dryers. Yes, you'd talk about laundry, but the one-on-one conversations at the laundry room could be different, from those taking place elsewhere. But ah, music was a common denominator.

My neighbor Andrea liked Ace Frehley's "Do Ya," a cover of Jeff Lynne/ELO. While doing her laundry, Andrea would pump her fist, and bounce along, as she sang "Do Ya." See, music turned a chore, laundry, into something fun!
