If you knew my friends back in high school, you would have found that their core music was "lite rock," or Adult Contemporary. If you did not see us in school itself, you'd have to come out, and play team sports. If you heard Giant Steps' "Into You," maybe you'd cringe, especially if all you wanted to do was kick ass in sports. But if you took a step back, you'd observe that, somehow, lite rock got our girls going.
After playing sports, we would disperse to various part of the City, and not necessarily home. Since the girls did not lug the sports equipment around, they had an easier time, going CD shopping.
Since our girls were typically 5'2", weighing no more than 120 pounds, they didn't take giant steps. And, they'd often sprain, or get hit in, their ankle.
Giant Steps were an English duo. Instead of trying to be the next Beatles, Giant Steps claimed that they were following in Wham's footsteps. You be the judge. But our girls thought that Giant Steps were more in the vein of, for example, Go West.
