Our freshman year of high school was coming to an end in late May/early June 1986. One fine Friday afterschool, my friends, instead of dispersing to go home, wanted to take the field, and play ball. To the right of this photo, the hill was longer and steeper. In his rush to hit the field, my friend Terry ran down that hill. But he stumbled, and blew out his right knee.
At the time, we did not know that Terry had a sister, named Teri, who was two grades below us. They were named Terry and Teri, because those were rough pronunciations of their actual (Chinese) names.
Sigh, in early 1989, a bunch of us was playing basketball at the outdoor courts. Teri was standing in the key, when a couple of players tumbled, and crashed into her legs. That blew out Teri's left knee.
During that Spring 1989 semester, my friends loved thrashing around to Skid Row's "Piece Of Me." Because Teri was recovering from knee surgery, she never did mosh it up with us to "Piece Of Me." Some of my friends would, in 1990, see Skid Row open for Aerosmith. Yup, "Piece Of Me" was a lot of fun! Nowadays, old audiophiles chuck the walkers, braces, and crutches, and thrash around to "Piece Of Me."
