My childhood friends did not drink alcohol, and we still do not drink alcohol. But we are always imbibing non-alcoholic beverages. While recently doing so, we overheard Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road."

35 years ago, at the end of 1988, it was a hit. It's about a family making moonshine in Tennessee. The grandson does a tour of duty in Vietnam. And when he returns to Tennessee, instead of continuing the moonshine, he switches to growing marijuana.
