30 years ago, my home alley was San Francisco's Japantown Bowl. But we had tournaments, travel league, and practices at other alleys. And that included Pacifica's Sea Bowl, which recently shuttered.
Although we did not see the movie, Super Mario Bros., the soundtrack produced Extreme's "Where Are You Going." This is yet another obscure track, which audiophiles and music lovers like to unearth.
As for us bowlers, in those days, there was no internet, so we had to use paper maps, in order to figure out where we were going :-) If you kept going south from Sea Bowl, you went through what was then Devils Slide, and ended up in Montara (above). Listening to Extreme's "Where Are You Going" felt good. And if you kept going south on Highway 1, you could go all the way to Santa Cruz's Surf (now Boardwalk) Bowl.
